Quaker parrots, also known as monk parakeets, are delightful pet birds with charming, comical personalities. They’re like little clowns, providing endless entertainment.

Here’s what you need to know about them:

  • Temperament: Quakers are confident, social, and outgoing. They enjoy being the center of attention and have exceptional talking abilities. They bond closely with their human companions and make loyal pets.
  • Size: Adult Quaker parrots measure around 12 inches from beak to tail and weigh between 4 and 5 ounces.
  • Lifespan: In captivity, they can live 20 to 30 years, and some even longer.
  • Diet: Here at CPbirds.com we wean all baby quakers on to plain cockatiel seed, roudybush pellets and fresh fruits and veggies.
  • Legal Considerations: While popular as pets, Quakers are illegal to keep in some parts of the U.S., so check local laws before getting one.

If you’re looking for a fun, talkative bird that fits well in a smaller package, a Quaker parrot might be the perfect choice!
